2012 Outlaw Kart Rules

All bandit/outlaw karts are to be QRC box stock non-suspension karts.

Bandits Age requirements:

  • 5-9 years of age or a driver with no previous kart racing experience.
  • Must be 5 years old before their first race.
  • All new drivers regardless of age must start in the Bandit class.
  • Driver must win a minimum of two races, be at least 8 years of age and be approved by the Kart officials to be allowed to move to the Outlaw Kart Class.
  • If a drivers 10th birthday falls on or before May 15th and the driver has kart racing experience the driver must move to the Outlaw Kart class.
  • If a driver elects to advance early to the Outlaw class they will not be allowed to return to the Bandit class.

Outlaws Age requirements:

  • Up to 13 years of age and be a qualified driver. To be determined by the Kart officials.
  • Driver must not turn 14 before May 15th to be allowed to remain as an Outlaw Kart driver.

Basic safety requirements for all classes:

  • All karts must have a 5-point harness.
  • Must have arm restraints, a neck brace, proper helmet (Snell or DOT approved) no ATV helmets, a race suit, gloves, race shoes are recommended but are not required.
  • All safety equipment must be in a good physical condition. No torn or tattered equipment will be allowed to be used during a race. The driver may be disqualified and not allowed to race until the equipment is replaced. All karts and drivers will be subject to inspection prior to each race.

Bandit Engine Rules:

  • Limited to a stock engine. With a restrictor plate (.500) to be used between the carb and intake.
  • Clutch and gear set-up at your discretion.
  • These rules may be changed at any time by the Kart officials if deemed necessary.

Outlaw Engine Rules:

  • This is a modified engine class.
  • Rules may be added at any time if necessary as determined by Kart and/or Track officials.

Fuel (All classes):

  • 87-110 octanes only. No alcohol, methanol, nitro etc.

Tires (All classes):

  • Box stock five or six inch rims.

Points system:

  • The point system will remain the same as last season.
  • There will be a pill draw to determine the starting line-up for the heat race.
  • No points will be given for the heat race. It is only to decide the main event starting line-up.
  • The main event will score up to 25 points for the winner. Second place will score 22 points and minus 2 points for each position thereafter.

Rules and regulations:

  • The kart classes will follow the same rules as the rest of the classes at the track, and can be found on the M.V.Raceway website. For example flags, track and pit etiquette.
  • Parents’ and other pit guests’ bad behavior will not be tolerated. Any concerns should be taken up with the Kart officials. Such bad behavior will result in a 25 point deduction and a race suspension for the kart driver.
  • There will be a two caution rule. Whether or not you are the cause or just involved you will be forced to go to the back of the pack, and possibly black flagged.

2012 MVR Outlaw Kart Engine Rules

Briggs & Stratton Animal Engines ONLY

Stock animal block ONLY, NO big bore blocks or deck spacers

Stock animal head casting ONLY porting and valve size is open

Side cover billet is allowed

Crankshaft any type crank or stroke allowed

Connecting rod any type allowed

Camshaft any type allowed

Piston any type allowed

Flywheel billet allowed

Ignition stock briggs type ONLY, NO msd or aftermarket coil allowed

Lifters & pushrods any type allowed

Rocker arms billet & roller allowed

Intake manifold any type allowed

Carburetor any single barrel carb allowed GAS ONLY

Header any type and diameter allowed

110 octane max fuel allowed with no additives it will be tested at the track

Protest rule: Fee to pull head only to check engine bore will be $30. If found legal, the $30 goes to person being pretested.

If found illegal, the $30 will be returned to the protester. The person found illegal, or refusing to pull the head will lose all points for that night.

Also any person who does no comply with the tech inspectors requests will loose all points for that night of racing no exceptions
